When Sarah Schaefer agreed to direct this year's musical for The Community Players of New Hastings, she excpcted drama. Possibly even a diva or two. But not death. Especially not a murder where she's the prime suspect!

When one of the most talented but least liked members of The Sound of Music cast turns up dead, the future of The Community Players is in jeopardy. Sarah had hoped to spend quality time during rehearsals with Dash, her non-binary teenager and the show's stage manager. Now, she's roped them into helping solve the mystery of who killed The Mother Abbesss so that the show can go on. Oh, and so that the local chief of police, who happnes to be her brother-in-law, can stop investigating her fo the murder.

Sarah will have to dust off all the skills she learned in her previous life — before she left the world of American tech startups during the first Trump administration for the quiet life of a stay-at-home-mom in small-town Canada — to dig into the dirt of the rural countryside and find the real murderer, and to save the family and community she loves.
