I'm Cece Jacobs, author of The Community Players Mysteries.

The first mystery is one I’ll solve for you; Cece isn’t my real name. It’s my cozy-mystery-writing alter-ego. During my non-mystery-writing hours, you cand find me narrating audiobooks (many of them cozy mysteries!) as Anna Maste. And much like Sarah Shaefer, the main character in Sets, Lies and Gaffer Tape, I was a computer engineer in a previous life.

The Community Players Mysteries hold a special place in my heart. Community theatre has been my escape since I first trod the boards as a nine-year-old in a production of Annie. And when I moved to Kitchener as an adult, I was welcomed into a group very much like The Community Players of New Hastings -- but with a lot less murder.

I’m also the proud mama of two teenagers, one of whom is gender-queer and inherited their mother’s flare for the dramatic. Representation is incredibly important for me, and I knew I couldn’t write a book unless it included a trans or gender-queer character. If reading about characteers who use they/them pronouns irks you, then take this as your cue to exit stage left now.

But if you’re excited to read about an American Software Developer turned Canadian Stay-At-Home-Mom who’s trying to enjoy quality time with her non-binary teenager while investigating a murder... then you’ve come to the right place!
